20,000 Unity Friends - WOWZA!

I love new Unity releases!! 

Thanks to all you lovely Unity facebook fans, we hit 20,000 friends - WOWZA!

So of course, we have 20 new releases!!

And this bunch is yet again so diverse - fun, pretty, sweet....something for everyone! I love that. So much.

I HAD to use this adorable new itty bitty....it kinda cracked me up...

I also wanted to share a little blurb from my "Inspiration Wednesday" post on the Unity Stamp Co blog this week (in case you missed it)....

Just because I am so in LOVE with this technique -

yup! you will see more of it...

Lately I have been inspired by some of the 'trends' currently happening....I follow a few blogs regularly and lately both Melissa Phillips and Nichol Magouirk have been embossing stamped images on vellum using white embossing powder. I have been in LOVE with this look and wanted to try it. This technique turned out beautifully - even though my style is just as diverse as both Nicole and Melissa, the technique adapts to each of our styles.....

Here's the card I created using this technique.

I really hope everyone had a great Mother's Day yesterday!

Some of you were celebrating your own moms or being celebrated yourselves....

Either way I hope it was a special day.

I had the privilege of creating these cards for some wonderful mother's this year.

 Each one was created with special requests from the giver but all are made with my "fancy" style and of course, lots of love....

Unity Thursday - May Inspiration

Hi everyone!!

Happy May!

Wow...time is flyin'!

Soon summer will be here in full swing!

But for now I will take all things spring....

With a new month comes a new {be inspired} challenge 

AND it starts TODAY!

Just look at the cheery and bright color palette on this one! 

I love it!

Here's the card I came up with - I used the color inspiration and the layout sketch. I had this fun butterfly paper pulled out for something else and saw that it had the colors of the challenge in it so I knew I wanted to use it for my card.  I also adapted the layout sketch so it would work for my card.....I love that about sketches...they can be followed strictly or loosely or even something in between....but they always give me a great jumping point...probably one of my favorite tools to use when I feel stuck.

I was also playing this last week with a new (to me) technique I saw....

This is an awesome water color technique using distress inks - I am in LOVE!

Plus it was quick and EASY and I seriously think it is GORGEOUS!
