I'm back, happy and playing along with Paper Smooches Sparks!

hi everyone!!

OH WOW!! 

what a summer!

so much has happened since the last time I blogged.

to fill you in would be a whole post all on its own....

so for now I will give you the short and sweet version:

I moved across the province to be closer to family.

my whole life has changed.

new town.

new job.

new apartment.

need to make new friends.

BUT...I am happy.

this was truly a good thing.

and now that I am mostly settled in,  I have the chance to be creative again.....

so here I am....

I created two birthday cards with my new Paper Smooches dies
(um, yup....I may have done a wee bit of shopping in anticipation of getting back to my creative space...lol...like I needed an excuse to shop, right?!)

anyways....

this week on the Paper Smooches Sparks blog the challenge of the week is ANYTHING GOES!!

So here are my two cards:

i was inspired by this sketch for this first card:

and I used the negative space to create my sentiment with this die set:

 this next card I made for my grandpa....he LOVES fishing....

this is the die I used, which happens to be the PERFECT size for making cards:

and on both my cards I used some little hearts which came from this die set:

Anything Goes - Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

Another Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge!

I'm kinda on a role!?

This weeks challenge: Anything Goes.

The Anything Goes challenges are always fun because I get to pull out my Paper Smooches stamps and create away freely....

I can go in whatever direction my creative juices get flowing! 

For me that usually means pulling out my stamps and going through all the adorable images and picking a couple that I really want to work with...whether its because I haven't really used them much, or I get inspired when I see them,  or I just really want to color the images...it really doesn't take much...just a jumping point. Once I have the stamps picked out the rest of the card usually comes together pretty easily!

Here's the two cards I came up with for this week:

For both of my cards I played with masking the images - I know this is a VERY basic stamping skill but it is one I VERY rarely use! It was fun to do something different and I really do like how they turned out. And of course, I had so much fun coloring these little guys....so cute!

Paper Smooches - Picture Perfect Challenge

Hi everyone!!

I'm playing along this week with Paper Smooches newest challenge!

This week is a Picture Perfect Challenge...

Create a project inspired by this photo:

Here's the card I created:

I used the colors from the inspiration photo keeping the card very tone on tone...browns, cream and white. I love challenges like this since I usually go for brighter colors when creating my cards. I guess that's why its a challenge...to get us doing something out of the ordinary!

The adorable cow and sentiment came from the Green Acres stamp set.

The challenge goes until Saturday evening - which means there's still time to join me!

Playing with Paper Smooches....Anything Goes!

Hi everyone!!

I hope everyone had a really great holiday?

I sure did....I got so spoiled!

Well, despite all the hustle and bustle through the holidays I still found some time to do some creating- yay!

Sooo.....I played along with the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge this week - Anything Goes

I needed to make a thank you card for one of the lovely Christmas gifts I received. I started with this large sentiment stamp and then perched the little cardinal on top to make it more "Christmas-ey"

I really love how this one turned out!

Since I was already playing with these large sentiments I created this second card as well....the "love you dearly" sentiment inspired me to combine this phrase with this cute little deer. I thought this might make a great Valentine's card (umm..yup, it's coming...although it seems a wee bit early to be thinking about it. But when inspiration strikes - we go with it, right?)
