Brown Thursday!! WAHOO!

Hi everyone!

Today is BROWN Thursday at Unity!
(way better than black Friday if you ask me - hehe)

With Thanksgiving approaching I hope you are all enjoying your fall, getting some family and friend time in, and feeling blessed and full of things to be grateful for!

We are having a bit of fun today with Unity!
New releases! Great deals!
Now that's something to be thankful for!

And the really great thing is that Unity is using this day as a chance to give back!
Yes!!
$1 from every sale today goes to RICE BOWLS!!
YAY!

Check out this new release!!
JUST SO. DARN. CUTE.

{Birdie Conversation Kit}
created by Lisa Arana

I had sooo much fun creating this little collection of cards.
Collections like this come together so easily because you are basically making the same card over and over again. I just personalize each one by mixing up the paper combos and using some different embellishments.
This layered paper look was inspired by Marcy Penner's signature style...
(gotta give kudos where there are due)

And here are some close ups of each little chick:

My good friend is having a birthday this weekend.
Her last name is Foxworthy.
I HAD to use this stamp.
YUP! There was just no way around that one!
Love how this turned out....now hopefully she does too.

Phyllis Harris makes the sweetest images....such a great artist...
For this card I pulled out my water color paints. Definately a technique I can use some more practice with, but I really do enjoy the process....

I also participated in the November {be inspired} challenge. Have you??
There are prizes, so if you haven't yet - you should definately check it out!

I drew my inspiration from the color challenge.
I wish sparkle and shine picked up better on camera.
Hopefully you get the idea (yes, that is silver vellum)?

Well, that's all I got for ya this week!!
Hope you enjoyed my creations :)
Now to continue along on the hop....

We have another great prize for you this week:

All you have to do is leave a comment on EACH blog in the hop (including the Unity blog) for your chance to win. The winners will be announced Monday on the Unity blog.

Here's a list of all the pretty faces in today's blog hop:

Brown Thursday at Unity also means some great things for YOU!!
Head over to Unity and check it out - all weekend!

Thanks so much for dropping by-
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving next week!

Hey Dude - Paper Smooches DEC Guest DT Submission #5

Last but not least!
(At least for today - ran out of daylight and my pictures were really not cooperating....
may even have to do some retakes of the ones I posted?)

Anyways.....
This alien.
So cute.

This little guy also came from this great boyish set:

Well, thanks for checking out ALL my submissions today.
The deadline is on Wednesday, so you may just see a couple more cards before then.
I can't help it!
I'm having too much fun!!

Happy day all!!
~Shilo

PS. After posting all of these cards individually and linking them up I DID figure out how I could have linked them all even if all the cards were in just one post....SO next time you will not be flooded individual posts...sorry about that (learning, as I go).

Chillax - Paper Smooches DEC Guest DT Submission #4

I had fun combining this little monster with the Slang Gang set.

He just seemed to fit perfectly with idea of needing to "chillax"...
I even gave him "crazy" eyes...hehe:

The cute little monster came from this awesome boyish set:

Thanks for checking in on submission #4!

Smitten Kitten - Paper Smooches DEC Guest DT Submission #3

I love Chubby Chums from Paper Smooches:

Seriously...can animals get any cuter!!??
And the best part...there are more sets just like these!!

I decided to color the kitty to look like my cat, Zuke.
I will eventually give this card to my guy...who also happens to adore my cat.
This pretty much makes this card perfect to give to him.
I really love how it turned out:

Thanks for checking out submission #3!

Thanks - Paper Smooches DEC Guest DT Submission #2

Hello again!

OK - so yesterday when I was hanging out in my scraproom I had YouTube playing.
ALL. DAY.
I was watching the Scrap Your Stash series at TwoPeasInABucket.
One of the videos was Paige Evans showing how she die cut a large title on her page and backed it with ribbon(click here for the actual video).
The effect was REALLY beautiful. I couldn't wait to try it.....

I just got a few adorable word dies from Paper Smooches so I was excited to get to use them in combination with this "new" technique....here is the result:

So now I am COMPLETELY in love with this technique!
What a PERFECT way to use up those little snips of ribbon - YAY!
I will be trying this one out again in the near future.

Here's the link to the die I used:

Thanks for checking out submission #2!

Love Will Keep Us Warm - Paper Smooches DEC Guest DT Submission #1

Hello everyone!

I have been playing with my Paper Smooches stamps again!!
ALOT!
It seems like whenever I start with these little cuties I just can't stop!!
I saw the call for the December Guest Designer search, so I thought I would make a card or two and enter....
Well, I made a few more than that!
And because of the way I have to link up my submissions I will post each card individually...so stay tuned, as there are a bunch of these coming!

Here's my first card:

I love coffee.
I love rainbows.
And I love coloring.
I guess this is what happens when you combine those three elements.

This is the Paper Smooches stamp set I used for this card:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Unity Thursday...Obsession or Passion?

Hello everyone!
Can you believe it's November already?
HOW. DID. THAT. HAPPEN?

It's a miracle that here in Cranbrook, British Columbia we still have NO snow!
Snow is beautiful, yes....but I am in LOVE with fall, so the longer it stays is ok with me.

Anyways, I am glad you are here today.
There are some exciting new releases at Unity this weekend....

I have two creations using some of the new stamps (gah!):

I have been VERY busy creating lately...I think it's safe to say that my passion for paper-crafting is returning. Yes, I have remained in love with creating but recently I want to spend more and more time at it...AND I have even managed to start back at my scrapbooking (been on a sabbatical of about 2 years now?)...yup obsessed...I mean passionate about this hobby!

Ok so here are this week's creations, along with the stamps I used to create them:

BEST GUY EVER

REINDEER TRIO

*limited edition

SEE YOU LATER, ALLIGATOR

WARMS MY HEART

I've been having so much fun!
There's also a scrapbook layout on my desk that's almost done. AND the beginnings of a 6X8 Project Life Album - I LOVE IT!
Hope the crisp weather has you all creating happily inside these days too :)

We have another great prize for you this week:

All you have to do is leave a comment on EACH blog in the hop (including the Unity blog) for your chance to win. The winners will be announced Saturday night on the Unity blog.

Here's a list of all the pretty faces in today's blog hop:
