Being inspired by the Unity Challenge

Hello everyone!

There have been a lot of ups and downs in my world lately with this BIG move...
and even though I was so excited to get my scraproom all set up so I could get in there, it seems that I have been a bit of a procrastinator.
I'm not sure why??
I guess sometimes creativity ebbs and flows....
BUT I decided to sit my butt down in that room and get making something! Thank goodness for challenges - they help so much!!!

I played along with the Unity {be inspired} challenge this month:

I used the color inspiration plus I also loosely based my card on the sketch:

It felt great to create this little card and with the challenge it really came together easily!
Yay! I love it when that happens :)
The sentiment came from the {thankful & blessed} KOTM.

And once I made the card for the challenge the creativity was flowing a bit so I made another one!
This one has nothing to do with the challenge though...I had this sweet little peep all colored up and hanging out on my desk so I decided to use him.

I just love teal and red together :)

I wanted my card to be a birthday card so I used the sentiment from the {you make my heart puffy} KOTM!

Anyways, thank you all for stopping by and checking out my creations...
Happy Sunday!

I'm back, happy and playing along with Paper Smooches Sparks!

hi everyone!!

OH WOW!!
what a summer!

so much has happened since the last time I blogged.
to fill you in would be a whole post all on its own....
so for now I will give you the short and sweet version:
I moved across the province to be closer to family.
my whole life has changed.
new town.
new job.
new apartment.
need to make new friends.

BUT...I am happy.
this was truly a good thing.

and now that I am mostly settled in,  I have the chance to be creative again.....

so here I am....
I created two birthday cards with my new Paper Smooches dies
(um, yup....I may have done a wee bit of shopping in anticipation of getting back to my creative space...lol...like I needed an excuse to shop, right?!)
anyways....
this week on the Paper Smooches Sparks blog the challenge of the week is ANYTHING GOES!!
So here are my two cards:

i was inspired by this sketch for this first card:

and I used the negative space to create my sentiment with this die set:

this next card I made for my grandpa....he LOVES fishing....

this is the die I used, which happens to be the PERFECT size for making cards:

and on both my cards I used some little hearts which came from this die set:

Paper Smooches makes my favorite dies.....and some of the cutest stamps ever....so
be sure to check them out at www.papersmoochesstamps.com.

well gosh! it was fun to get back into my creative space and make some cards...
thank you all for stopping by and checking in!
it is good to be back!

Start with turning the page.....Unity Thursday.

Hi everyone!
So glad you are here.

Well, I have a bit of an announcement to make.
This is my last blog post with Unity Stamp Co.
I have been sooooo blessed to have been a part of this family!
I have loved every moment of my time with Unity - creating with these gorgeous stamps, getting to interact with all you lovelies and being part of an incredible community of creative, talented, caring ladies - the Unity girls are stellar...seriously they are a group of angels!
I made the decision to step down, because, well....life happens....and things are just all chaos for me right now. There are a lot of big changes that have happened lately and that are coming in my life in the near future. It wasn't an easy decision though, believe me!

Anyways, thank you all for your support and encouragement and kind words, week after week.
I don't think you ever truly know how much it has meant to me.

I will also be taking a bit of a summer sabbatical from creating, but I promise I will be back at it someway, somehow in the fall.

SOOOO.....onto the cards I created for you this week.
I picked this stamp and its quote for today because I thought it was super appropriate - this quote just kinda sums it up.
It's hard sometimes to "turn the page", but the book is not over yet...I'm thinking there are many chapters still to come!

And then of course, I'm gonna miss u!! YES! All of U!
That was the inspiration for this next card:

And once again, we have 2 fabulous prizes to give away this week!!

All you have to do is leave a comment on EACH blog in the hop (including the Unity blog) for your chance to win. The winners will be announced Saturday night on the Unity blog.

Here's a list of all the pretty faces in today's blog hop:

Don't forget to
head over to Unity and check out the BIG bargains this weekend!

And now what a sad thing for me....time to sign off. One last time.

Goodbye all you lovelies - at least for now!
Hope you all have a beautiful summer!

Unity Thursday - May {be inspired} Challenge

Hi everyone!
Welcome back to another Unity Thursday!

TODAY there are LOTS of things happening at Unity...
new releases, a sale, and our NEW May {be inspired} challenge is up!

I chose to use the color inspiration picture this week for my project.

I was inspired by the colors AND the fact that these are garden gloves....this is what I came up with:

The colors on my card are actually way brighter but it is a very dark, dreary, rainy day here - my pictures just aren't capturing the cheery colors today - sorry about that.

Be sure to pop over and check out the new challenge and play along with us - we would LOVE to see what you create!

And once again, we have 2 fabulous prizes to give away this week!!

All you have to do is leave a comment on EACH blog in the hop (including the Unity blog) for your chance to win. The winners will be announced Saturday night on the Unity blog.

Happy Birthday Unity!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNITY!!!
I, for one, am super excited to be celebrating Unity's birthday!
I have loved them for a long time now and it is so incredible to have seen this little family-run business grow into something so wonderful (well, ok....they were wonderful SINCE the beginning)....
The stamps, the staff and the creator, Angela - this little company not only has an amazing product and incredible customer service, it has heart, soul, and lots of love!
I was a fan LONG before I was lucky enough to join into this little stamp family, so I promise I am speaking from my own heart.
So here's to 7 happy years of Unity Stamp Co and 77 X7 more!!!

And of course there is celebrating happening at Unity too!
YAY!!
And a BIRTHDAY SALE!

I chose to use this sweet vase of flowers for my cards this week.

Since Mother's Day is coming soon, I decided to get a head start on my Mother's Day cards. I made two to share with you this week. Both using the fabulous vase of flowers. I {heart} it.

I think out of the two this next one is my favorite....I am definately drawn more to the brighter colors.

There you have it - two cards with the same stamp -
Which one do you like best??

Now back to the birthday hop business....
we have 2 fabulous prizes to give away!!

All you have to do is leave a comment on EACH blog in the hop (including the Unity blog) for your chance to win. The winners will be announced Saturday night on the Unity blog.
